The Political Speech Workshop

What makes a political speech? How do you get your ideas across in an effective and engaging way? How do you get people to listen? This workshop is specifically for politicians

We will train how to sell your message in an engaging way, storytelling, persuasion, filler-word removal, body language for politicians, and how to correctly structure a political speech. The workshop starts off with breaking down one of the greatest political speeches in history, Martin Luther King’s ‘I have a dream’. You will learn why this speech is amongst the greatest in history, what tools Martin uses, and how you can produce speeches with equivalent power.

Asbjorn has previously trained workshop for both entrepreneurs, scientists, and also politicians in The Danish Parliament.

Can be a 1-hour, 3-hour, or 5-hour workshop, depending on what you need.

The Scientific Pitch Workshop

During my second semester at medical school, I experienced a different kind of professor. This professor changed the way I looked at scientific presentations. For the first time, I saw a person in academia that mastered their communication. A person in academia that mastered their rhetoric. A person that could storytell. A person that could speak about the most difficult of topics within pathology, whilst keeping hundreds of students engaged.

One of the biggest problems I have encountered amongst scientists, academics, and researchers, is the problem of presenting and pitching their projects. They know that their research can make a difference. They know they have something to offer. But how do you present it, so people will listen?

The workshop is based upon Kendall Haven’s big neuroscience study “Your Brain On Story”. In this study, Kendall Haven, and his 38 neuroscientists, proved that our brains are designed to make sense and remember information through stories. Within the brain, there is an area that scientists have chosen to call neural-story-net. In this story net, there is a filter called the make-sense-mandate-filter that filters out the information and make it into a storytelling format (with the main character, the antagonist, a challenge, and a resolution). That is why we have a very high emphasis on storytelling in everything we do in this workshop.

Can be a 1-hour, 3-hour, or 5-hour workshop, depending on what you need.

Public Speaking & Storytelling Workshop

Do you think your employees, students, or people you are working with would perform better if they were to improve their public speaking skills? One of the biggest fears a lot of people have is public speaking. They are up several days before they have to present, and because of their nervousness, they usually never end up getting their point across effectively. In this workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of public speaking i.e. how to stand, how to talk, how to start, how to fill in, and how to end. Moreover, you will learn about speech structure, how to engage with your audience, and a host of other tools.

”I had the pleasure of attending one of Asbjørn Jensen public speaking workshops at DJØF Copenhagen. It was superb and highly interactive. Asbjørn captivated 40 people for two and a half hours, and they were all mesmerized. Nine groups demonstrated what they had learnt from Asbjørn and they performed better and better, due to the great inspiration from Asbjørn. All participants wanted more of the same. Come back, Asbjørn!”
